Northern Lodge is located in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. This region known as the Karoo is host to some of the most diverse wildlife in the country.
Northern Lodge is characterised by vast Serengeti-like plains interspersed with rocky outcrops and majestic mountains. The Seacow River flows through the south of the ranch and the Vanderkloof Dam is situated in the north. Due to the diversity in habitat types, Northern Lodge is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Vegetation range from open grasslands to broken bush and riverine thickets along the Seacow River. At night the sky transform into a picturesque display of colours as the stars light up. Due to the remoteness of Northern Lodge there is no light interference or pollution from close-by cities making this one of the most unspoilt locations in the country.
Dining at Northern Lodge is an authentic culinary experience. Dining options include an outdoor boma with fully stocked bar, African inspired lapa, deck over the Seacow River or main lounge with cozy dining room and prominent fireplaces.
Meals include free range steak, some of the best Karoo Lamb, fresh locally produced vegetables, game hunted on safari and a wide range of hearty South Africa meals. All meals are complemented by hand selected vintage Cape wines.
The Main Lodge at Northen Lodge offers 16 en-suite bedrooms set alongside a summer creek. Set on one of South Africa’s largest single unit hunting areas in South Africa. From your private patio take in the vastness of the landscape as the sun rises in the morning.
Desert Star is a smaller intimate lodge with 4 beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms, lounge & dining area and lapa. This lodge is strategically placed with spectacular views onto the Vanderkloof dam.
